Mesh und Blender

Mesh-Outfits!!

Mesh outfits!!

To create mesh clothing, you need special software. Blender is free and versatile. You can use it to both create clothing and rig it. That means, on the one hand, you “build” a garment—for example, a shirt—and, on the other hand, you have to edit it so that it adapts to the avatar’s movements.

But be warned: Blender is a monster of a program—brilliant, but nearly impossible for mere mortals to master. At least, that’s how I experience it.

For my clothes, I use the program *Marvelous Designer*. I use it to build the garments and then rig them in Blender.

Marvelous Designer is very expensive, but I have a loving husband who gave it to me as a birthday present.

For both programs, I refer you to the many tutorials available.

In the video I show how to create a rigged mesh pair of pants in Blender with very little prior knowledge.
